I bought a 3 lug adaptor for my Colt 9mm SBR and I find it doesn't clear the FSB.

What other options do I have in 3 lug mounts?

FIFY

Grind the bayo lug off

Get a FF tube/quad rail and remove the FSB all together

Both terrible solutions.

How about a spacer behind the existing 3 lug, how much more room do you need?

I had similar issue with a griffin brake on a hk53 type, too close to front sight tree. I bought a set of accu-washers. Got it > .06 away.

Why is cutting the bayonet lug off a terrible option? What's the point of a bayonet lug on a 10.3-10.5" barrel?

What's the point of the bayonet lug with a suppressor on the gun?

My guess is that it a Colt, and it is collectable as such. If it were brand x, I would agree with loping off the bayonet lug.

Shhh. . .. If I told you, I'd have to kill you.  You know Sniper Delta Seal Ranger shit you know.

It is a Colt upper, not interested in making any changes other than the muzzle device.  I'll give up on the 3 lug before I make any other change.

Do what you want, but there is no value saved by not cutting the bayo lug off

No one would ever know, and what is a new one cost anyway, probably ask on the EE and someone would send you one if you paid the postage

Hell, I've got at least 3 of them in my parts bin

Even a thread on can is going to hit that bayo lug, but by all means go ahead and stack on some shims or use an extension. keep stacking up tolerances and risk a baffle strike, at least you won't have devalued the precious pony
