Depends on the can, some spit flames. Lol

Yes and no. Depends on can and round you use. Mainly no. It improves the reduction of the flash.

Compared to a bare muzzle yes. Compared to a good flash suppressor like the be meyers or vortex or similar no.

Hi,

I would disagree taking into account the first shot from a suppressor.

Our HiPer flash hider vs our jet-Z CQB-BL suppressor, AE 55 gr ammo:

The HiPer is very similar in performance compared to the Vortex and AAC Blackout for example.

Best Regards!

AAC/Silencerco 308 can on .223 16", will there be flash?

in general yes, but some cans and some ammo with still produce a flash. I would say in general it reduces it but doesnt eliminate it all together.

I think your photo's agreed with me? I'm sorry, but first-round-flash counts, IMO.

Some will fare better than others. Some ammo makes it impossible to completely eliminate. The best combo I have found is Gemtechs Smith Vortex bi-lock and suppressor.

Talkijg about construction material - Titanium can add sparking which is interesting. Stainless steel is normally dimmer/ less flash.

Direct thread on suppressors don't do as well as a flash hider mount and suppressor combined.

Findings while playing with yhm, aac, gemtech, ops inc, griffin, swr, Thompson machine, liberty and a few others.

All of them had a small amount of flash on the first shot, some better than others. Most of them had little to no flash after 1-3 rounds fired.

I caught this on video and captured a first round pop photo from Jenns DPMS. Can is a XXX Warrior, After that shot all 30 were zero flash.

i have 2 AAC cans, m4 2000 and SCAR-SD 6" version, both of these on 20" and 18" barrels and the will spit fire on the first round or 2. i notice it because i use a NV scope that picks it up very well.

once i run a few rounds thru the can to remove the extra oxygen it drops to near zero but you have to keep shooting otherwise it fills back up with O2.

i actually get less muzzle flash with just a phantom than the suppressors.
