This, it takes me about 87 seconds to time one with the crush washer.

I don't think you're supposed to use a crush washer for a suppressor mount brake. May crush uneven and cause baffle strikes.

FWIW, you could always have a decent machinist make you a shim to your needed dimensions.

This. Most if not all manufacturers state not to use crush washers on their mounts.

Crush washers don't crush evenly putting your mount off center (concentric to bore is very important, from your measurements I'd say you already know that). Once you figure in tolerance stacking at best you will experience POI shift, at worst end cap or baffle strikes. As others stated - this voids many manufacturers warranties.

Shims and peel washers are your options. How many foot pounds of pressure are you exerting to mount the brake? Some manufacturers suggest rocksett and 30 pounds of pressure, but allow for up to 60 pounds depending on barrel type & manufacturer spec. It's possible you aren't near the max allowable and could get a little extra to time, or a little less with rocksett.

I used the supplied peel washer. I had to take one off and it clocked properly. YHM does not recommend the use of rockesett. At least they did not mention it to me when I asked them. But it looks like you got your issue solved.

I don't mind doing it with the peel washers they supply. I had a hell of a time timing my 7.62 brake though. The YHM brakes don't give you much area to work with the wrench, and the shims they sent me were too wide.

I end up putting some heat to the peel washers and they come apart easily.

^^+1. I tired seperating them by razor. Ended up doing the heat methond to melt the laminate holding them together.

Reply I received from YHM

YHM.net
Sir,
The YHM-5M2QD's use the peel washer included with them. Our QD Flash
Hiders DO NOT use any washer. You have a Muzzle Brake, so use the included
washer. Simply install the washer. Screw the muzzle brake on BY HAND ONLY
till it contacts the washer. Then put a wrench on the wrench flats and
turn the mount to the desired position, so the flat spot is at the 6
o'clock position and you are done. There is no torqueing or overtightening
of the mount needed.

The 5.56 brake should be a peel washer. When I got mine I had no idea wtf it was, so I came here, found the info, and got some tips about putting the heat to it.

I didn't measure it with calipers, but each layer itself is quite thin.

Never ever use a crush washer when mounting a suppressor mount –– unless you want to guarantee misalignment and expensive damage to a suppressor, some of which cannot be repaired.

This is why we went with a two part design for our BoreLock series muzzle brake.
