Hi there,

I'd like to buy one suppressor for two uppers.

1) SIG 516 (piston 5.56)    For long-range steel plinking
2) Unknown 300 Blackout SBR (running super and subsonic CQB)

Is there one suppressor that would be effective for both of these setups?  Forgive my ignorance

AAC 7.62-SDN-6

This.  I have one that has been pending for 2 months now.  It is going on a 9" 300 BLK SBR and a Sig 556 SBR.

In reality, though, any 7.62 can will work and the 5.56 is not going to suppress like a round that is subsonic.  I have honestly never heard a suppressed centerfire rifle in my life.

Well you're not missing much, they're still loud as shit.

Although my blackout/whisper is QUIET. I have a Gemtech HVT, I like it - but it's WAY too fuckin heavy.

Basically you just buy a 7.62 size suppressor.

It will be slightly louder on the 5.56 than a true 5.56 suppressor due to the bore being larger.

I have a YHM 308 QD that I use on my 556 and 300 Blackout.  I'm very pleased with it!

Another vote for the YHM 7.62Ti.Just picked mine up this past Thursday and shot most of the weekend. It is hearing safe (for me and the 8 or so people with me, YMMV) on my 14.5" AR and my 300 build will be done in a week or two.

If you are doing any rapid fire or F/A, you might want to rethink going with a Ti can.  Ti is not well suited to rapid fire due to the heat associated with it.  Most Ti can manufacturers will tell you the same thing.

I went with the Gemtech Quicksand.  No regrets.  I've not done rapid or full auto fire with it.  The mounts look nice when the suppressor is not in place.

I use the same can, have done a mag dump or two while bunny hunting on an 11.5" 5.56 AR.  Hasn't given me any issues. Sounds great on my 8" Noveske 300 blkout. Also really like it on my Rem 700 LTR in 308 and DPMS SASS 308.

HVT QD here.  Also use it on 5.56, 6.8, and a few .30 cal rifles.  Heavy, but works well.

I ended up getting it after you helped me with some questions I had.  I also use it on a 300 BLK bolt gun.

I just opened mine on Sat. and was very surprised at how light it was, I have held the YHM cans and they felt twice as heavy! Now with that said I have never held the titanium version! But I'm more than impressed with my AAC 7.62 SDN-6

IMO Surefire makes the best QD mounting system.  If you're going to move one suppressor around between multiple rifles, the QD system deserves to be a priority.  No one ever gripes about Surfire's QD system.

We're really happy with our FA762K on our 308, 5.56, and 300 BLK guns.
