Hi, As a newbie forgive my lack of knowledge, but are there any good pistols out there in .380 that would make a good host for a silencer? I can think of a few but where does one get a threaded/extended barrel for say a PPK or the like? I like the 380 cuz all of its ammo is subsonic, unlike 9mm, barring spendier & sometimes hard to find 147 grain. thanks

I asked this a little while ago and the consensus was that there are very few .380 guns to suppress due to the way most of them function.

I would think there are some fixed barrel 380s that would be perfect for suppression

Not to mention, where I live 9mm 147-gr ammo is typically cheaper than .380.

I have a PPK and Makarov - both in .380 . The problem is blowback from the ejection port , which is increased by back-pressure caused by the suppressor ... To be effective , you would need something that uses the Browning tilt-barrel action , like the Colt Mustang , .380 Government , or similiar locked-breech action ... As others suggest , .22 or 9mm might be less of a headache to suppress ...
