Don't assume you're going to be a badass because you chose to buy a Mil-spec component. Just saying. http://i297.photobucket.com/albums/mm228/aakrusen/2012-03-09_16-03-07_861.jpg How ffar underneath the handguard does the fake can go? I have a Carbine length handguard that I might make into an upper like that if it would still look right. About 1/2" underneath. I have the low profile YHM gas block and there is a gap between that and the end of the can. If you keep the A2 sites than this won't quite fit, it's about 1/4"-3/8" too long. Obviously that is an easy remedy in the length of the tube just being cut shorter. Maybe my eyes are fooling me, but isn't that rail longer than carbine length? Where did you get the fake can? |

He said the rail is a Specter length. Theyre 9.67", so yes, it is longer than a carbine rail. |

Rifle posted is a probably best catagorized as a novelty, fun to shoot but not purpose built.
R700 worked, 16" modified MTU contour 1-8tw chambered in 300BLK deep flutes, 762-SD, McMillan A5 in McCamo loggerhead hardware w/spacer system MTU barrel inlet flush cups and pillar bedded , M5 DBM, Premier Heritage 3-15x50 Seekins rings and NF 15moa rail, barreled action krylon'd to semi match the stock. |

I built something near the same.....minus the mag fed bottom metal. Did that eliminate any of the feed issues that many experience on the R700 platform when chambered in 300blk. |

Its rock solid with zero issues though it took some time to get the case ejection reliable, I installed a stouter plunger spring and also machined the notch in the plunger to allow for a longer throw. Still has the typical wimpy Remington ejection, but at least it ejects.
