I have seen the Armalite fiberglass (black and green) free floating tube. Are they OK?..better, same or worse than the aluminum ones. Please help with your own experience.

Thanks.

My only experience is with the Armalite DCM legal float tube, which is very good.

I have heard that the aluminum float tube tends to get real hot. I believe that covers for the aluminum float tube are made to protect your hand.

The fiberglass float tube doesn't have the overheating problem, but I kinda wonder how it holds up with heavy use . . .

I have one just sitting here waiting for another project.

I like the hell out of them. Durable and the mounting system is superb.
They allow a repeatable index when remounting which is a big plus.

They are a little heavy which is a downside if you're going for a light rifle. Other than that they work great.
