I keep seeing posts om this on various boards across the net.  If you have valid, intelligent information on this I'd kind of like to know.
I have seen internet stories about an Army Guard guy from Tacoma who sent him stolen parts, a guy who was putting them together and selling them without an FFL, that they are dangerous and will blow apart without warning and all sorts of crap.
Does anybody actually know something true, should you stay away from one if you see it for sale?  Please if you have another unverified rumor do not respond.

As good as Springfield's cast receivers are, I see no reason to risk owning an MKS re-weld.  It sounds like the owners who turn them in are not being prosecuted, but they're still out a lot of cash, and who knows?  Maybe some rabidly anti-gun AUSA will decide to start prosecuting them later.  Not worth the risk, IMHO.
