I bought this gun new in box M77 SN75-74XXX was wondering if i can shoot 7.62 ammo is gun any good or is it just ruger junk

Depends, Is this gun chambered for 7.62?It should be marked on the barrel what your firearm is chambered for.
is gun any good or is it just ruger junk
From my experience I've found the M77 to be exceptional for the price

the m-77 series is a fine firearm. i've outshot my pre-64 win. m-70 with one (both in 30,06).

the ruger will withstand both .308 civvie pressure as well as 7.62x51.

You can shoot .308 ammo, which is also the same thing as 7.62 NATO. You can NOT shoot 7.62x39, which is AK-47 ammo.

BTW, My uncle has a Ruger M77 .223 varmit, and it's a great gun. very accurate.
