Hello!
Does anyone know if there are any preban AK's in 5.45 x 39 in the US? I'd really like to get one of those with a folding stock.....  Thanks, Mike |

Mike, IMPO, there are no such things as AK-74 preban. Someone correct me if I'm though. |

The only ones that I have heard of have been made from a pre-ban (.223, or 7.62) Reciever. They are rare and cost too much in the long run for most people to make.

The only pre ban ak-74 clones that I know of are rumored to have been brought in by Norinco just before the 89 ban in very small numbers ( something like 4-5 copies). I believe the model is designated the type-88 and they are not cheap as I have heard they are in the $5000 nieghborhood.

biochem is correct. norinco shipped in a VERY few prototypes...according to knowledgable sources. i've never seen one, and i doubt i ever will! lol!
additionally, there are purported bulgarian full auto pmds 5.45's in country. krinkov has a pair of them, i believe. |
