I am very fortunate to have most of the guns I have wanted. For some reason I keep on wanting a Serbu super shorty but can't get myself to spend the 9-1200.00  for a toy. Now I have the Mossberg 590 shockwave and don't need it anymore.

PVS-14 and PEQ-15 - Don't have a private range and would likely never use them properly but still want
Krink SBR in x39 - Will probably settle for a WASR or Atlantic build as I "need" an AK
G19 - G26 needs a big brother
Bolt Action in a caliber > .223 - Have a spare .30 cal silencer that needs a host
CZ75 Compact - Shot one at the range and loved it and I've always admired CZ's work
Colt Python - Iconic
PDW like a Mac 11 or B&T TP9 - Been obsessed with this configuration lately

A modern hand-cranked Gatling in a common, useful caliber, like .357 or .30 carbine.  (.22cal Gatlings are toys, and .45-70 is stupid large and expen$ive.)

I've been promised by the g/f that if I buy a Gatling, we can put a pintle mount in her Jeep!!

I would never try to tell anyone that limiting one's self to only what you need is somehow wrong or a bad policy - in fact it's probably quite the opposite.

But I do know that it is something of which I am not capable...

Just scratched my Shield .45 itch

The only other one I'm even considering is a 870 Hardwood Home Defense----probably get one once Scheels comes to their senses and gets the price back to $350-------I have plenty of other shotguns and don't actually need one of these at all.

Every once in a while you have to let go of 'what purpose will this serve' and just buy what you want!

It will be ok. You likely owe it to yourself

Glock can still be used for whatever purpose they serve now. Buy your BHP just because and blast away at the range

Firearms are my hobby. That's the only justification I need to buy one. Bills paid? Kids fed? House warm? Car running? Money in the bank?

I have to keep the "guns i just want" thing in check.   Most of mine are purpose driven.

That said life is to short to not own things you just want these were the last two additions. (stamp took just over 11 months)

My all time top want is a Colt .32 Auto.  I think they're an ideal EDC weapon if you're a reasonable marksman.

I've wanted a Hi-Power for a long time too.

If you want a Hi-Power, you better start looking harder.  I read on another forum that Browning is discontinuing the Hi-Power.

While it's true that HP production is being phased out next year (based on what I've read), keep in mind that a million plus were made over the years, so they're not really in short supply. That doesn't mean people won't try and ask ridiculous prices for them, but they're not going anywhere.

I did buy my first last week though...

Sig P210 (all 4 variants when they decide to release them)
Mauser C96 Broomhandle
Colt Artillery SAA in 45 Colt
Chicago Palm Pistol

Winchester 1895 in 30-06
Old school brass frame Ruger Bear Cat
Iver Johnson or H&R top break pocket revolver in 22

Winchester 1873 in 44-40

I could always use a couple more pre-safety Winchester 94s.  Maybe another Rossi .357.

I kinda need a P320 in .357Sig, simply because I can't find a fricking barrel.......

I am a rimfire junkie, so there are one or two I wouldn't pass up if I saw them.  Smith and Wesson kit guns for example.

I never had a Smith Model 66, so I wouldn't pass up a deal on one.  I have a 67.

Lately I've been really wanting a belt-fed semi auto.  I'd love the FN M249S, but I'm not willing to pay its going rate any time soon.

So, I've been looking at the RPD and the 1919A4 semi autos.  Totally impractical, but maybe one would be a nice Christmas gift for myself.

What if I told you these two simple things that arfcomers like yourself hate to hear?

There are no rules that says you cannot own anything else but one type of gun to do as many roles as possible.

And there are still no rules that says you have to have 87 million rounds of ammunition for these collectors/reference/range toys.

I got what I need for defensive purposes. Now all I do is buy the guns I want. If all I had was defensive only guns, then I'd lose interest to go shooting because shooting the same thing over and over without adding something different and fun to it is just boring and would kill my motivation to shoot the same crap without adding something to it as a reward for myself.

This.

I love guns both for their mechanics and their history.
I have ARs and Glocks (and an xds/lcp/p32/S&W 642) for defense, plus a couple others for hunting.
Most of my guns I own because I like them; be that my AKs, SKS, Mosin, SMLE, Mauser, Garand, and M1 Carbine, or my black powder rifle and pistols.
The next guns I buy will probably be a reproduction Brown Bess and some sort of FAL, or maybe a  . . .

ETA: My actual list of guns I'm looking to buy as money becomes available (in no particular order).

Brown Bess
P1853 3 band Enfield
M1A
FN-FAL (18" or 21", fixed stock, probaby IMBEL)
G3 (clone)
HK33 (clone)
MAS49/56
M16A1 (clone)
No 4 Lee Enfield
K98 or analog (preferably 6.5mm or 7mm)
K31
MAS36
Arisaka (pref 6.5mm)
Mannlicher (8x56mmR only)
Carcano (6.5mm)
Berthier and/or Level rifle (not carbine)
Krag rifle (not carbine)
CZ75
Sig 226
FN High Power
C96 in 7.63 Mauser
P08 Luger
Webley Mk 4 (birds head grip, short barrel, .455)
Lever action .44 mag, 16" barrel
Brace of .44 special or magnum single action revolvers
Brace of 1860 army repros

That's all I can think of off the top of my head.
And including ammo and accessories I spend ~$2500/yr on guns, so it's going to take me a while.

Check out the FM-9 belt fed upper for AR's in 9mm. Not too expensive and a lot of fun. I have a short barrel one on a full auto lower with octane45 silencer.

I'm going to pick up a 6" ruger gp100 soon just for a range toy. I see a lot of people wanting an mp5 or a garand.
I had my mp5 clone built before all the turkish and paki imports came about. Just my opinion while the mp5 is fun, the novelty wears off pretty
Quickly without the happy switch. The garand however is freakin awesome!
