Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Any experience with the Mossberg Patriot

I've been looking for a light compact bolt gun and I'm really liking the Remington model 7, but some of the new offerings have caught my eye, namely the Mossberg Patriot youth. Does anyone have any first hand experience with the rifle.

Picked up one in 243 for my son. Great economy knockoff of the Savage.  Cheap cheap stock but it is light and durable. Trigger is good. The finish doesn't look like it really is gonna like damp/humid enviroments so rub it down good with oil if it is gonna get wet or morning dew buildup on it. But for $250...
