I started spoiled. SIG P229 (.40). Early model AD '94, has triple serials which I didn't know were desirable until a decade later. Bought barely used. My brothers buddy bought it new, then changed departments and was issued one, so he sold it to my brother, who was then issued an HK and sold the SIG to me. $450, probably had no more than 150 rounds through her. Only problem was is was during AWB and they couldn't give me the 12 rounders with it.

It's still my EDC. Never failed to go bang in my hands. This pic was after a 3-gun IIRC, which is why it's so dirty.

On the day of my 21st birthday I bought an lnib Russian commercial Makarov, and stopped at the county courthouse afterwards to apply for my carry license.  A month or so later I bought a well used police trade in glock 22 for like $550 with 3 15 round mags.

Then another month or so later I got a great deal on a synthetic Remington 1100.

Sold the makarov, but still have the other 2, and the Glock has been my primary carry weapon for almost 15 years now.

...Yeah, I know.

It was all I could afford at the time. I managed to sell it for the same price I paid.

First decent firearm I ever bought was my Mossberg 835. Love that gun.

Can't remember when, probably sometime around 1999 I bought a Spanish 1928 dated Mauser at a gun show.

The bore was completely rusted out, much of the wood was cracked or rotten. Some years later my situation calmed down enough for me to get it operational with a new barrel and stock. That was the first thing I owned that I truly considered a firearm. Probably helped that I bought it with my own money.

1992 I was 11, bought a Remington Viper .22lr for $145.  Loved it but had some issues.  Traded it three years ago on a sweet deal for a MAK90.

No pics.  It was a used Ruger Black Hawk in .357 magnum with a 4&5/8" barrel.

I put a box of ammo through it before it got traded in on a Ruger Single Six convertible with a 5&1/2 barrel.

Don't have that one anymore either.  Eventually traded it in on a Compound Bow.  I still have that Bear Kodiak Magnum.

Pretty sure it was a DPMS AP4 carbine with a 16" heavy barrel around 2005/2006

a savage MKII with spotter barrel and no accutrigger was purchased around the same time from Dick's for $100.  They were on clearance and came with a 4x optic. That stupid gun is more accurate than I am, it's just too light for me to shoot offhand well with it. Skimmed the trigger with some AL and it's actually quite good.

A shiny new Remington Nylon-66 in Apache Black with the chromed barrel and receiver cover. I was thirteen, so 1964. Totally Buck Rogers, turned out to be very accurate. My first (ex-)wife waited until I was in Montana, then loaned it to someone she was reasonably certain would not bring it back in about 1981 or so. One of these days I will find another-- though it's not like I have any shortage of .22 rifles after kids and grandkids--

Remington 600 Mohawk in .243. Bought it new in 74 with my paper route money. I was 11. Killed many deer, javelina, coyotes, and jackrabbits with it. 2 of my boys killed their first deer with it and are now fighting over who gets it when I die.

Same here. Sold it to buy a Colt WWII repro, and while I love the WWII and would never sell it, I kinda wish I had the first gun back just because.

My very first was a Remington 870. Never even fired it. It just sat around and I sold it a couple years later. Every few years I'll buy a shotgun, never use it, and then sell it when I realize I don't have a single interst in shotguns.

Same here, except local gun shop.

I sold it like an idiot, but about 3 years ago my wife bought her uncles that had been in the family forever and gave it to me.

I love that rifle.
