I was lucky enough to purchase this TA31F from a buddy for $620. I carried one in Afghanistan for 13 months but really only used my TA44's on my personal rifles. I missed the huge FOV and the short eye relief does not bother me so I made the decision to add this ACOG to my do it all rifle. I plan to run a Burris FF3 on a 45 degree offset for close stuff.

What really surprised me is the GDI mount. It allowed me to move the ACOG back a little and is built like a tank. These mounts are normally close to $200, but were being closed out for $39.00 and change. The total charge with shipping was $47.00. It was well worth the price and compares nicely with Larue and American Defense. They are also reported to have only a .001  to .003 shift when being removed and reinstalled on the upper.

Yeah, what he said.  I've come to the conclusion, a long time ago, an ACOG is really what I'd want for glass.  But I just don't have deep enough pockets for one.  So I'm living vicariously through you right now.    Nice build too.

Dumb question. Is that mount on backwards?

They can be mounted on either side. If I turn the ACOG around there is a little overhang of the optic off the rail which hits my BUIS  and forces me to move the whole mount one notch further. The eye relief is already short without having to move it farther forward. If I run the mount the way it is now, I do not have that overhang.

The same can be done with a Larue or ADM amount.

ACOGs do indeed have good glass.  They do not have great glass.  Gotta spend a little more for great glass.

That is just a smoking deal for a GDI mount.  I'm tempted to turn one into a tripod mount at that price.

You flat ass stole that mount.  I had to pay 550 for my GDI scope mounts.

Had one. Did not like.

I would borrow one from a friend and check it out first.

The Acog or the GDI mount?

Either way, what were your complaints?

Lol, friends.

I have neither an acog or friends (that would have an acog mount). My plan is to use this for my primary arms 2.5x prism scope.

Let us know how it goes.  Do you know what the hole spacing is for the PA scope?

The PA site says it fits standard full size acog mounts. It has a a two hole patern and the base looks distinctly acogish.

My mount came in today. Thanks again for the heads up.

Two things I noticed. 1st- it's heavier than the mount that came with the pac2.5x. 118 grams vs 79 grams.

2nd- the base on the scope does not take up the full mount. There is ~1/2" front and back of empty groove.

Nothing I'm worried about. It's a $48 (shipped) quick release that has return to zero.
