I don't use them. When mounting a scope I use a vertical line in the paneling on the wall to level. So far it's worked.

Small levels are nice to have around, but a plumb line will work as long as you can insure the rifle is straight.

In order to take full advantage of the "newer" ranging reticles.... I prefer to level the rifle as much as possible ( from left to right ) in a steady rest, on a steady bench, aimed at target. .... and then I try to view a red piece of yarn ( hanging with a fishing weight on the bottom, plumb bob ) at 50-100yds..
It is a little bit of a chore.....But done right, I then know it is as good as I can get it. Remember to tighten the ring screws slowly, and double check your progress. BTW.... if anyone has a easier way, please share ! Lol |

I use a plumb bob to level the reticle in my scopes.
