Guys,
Saw it on CDNN, they have 24. I will wait for the rifle. Max |

At $1500... might as well get a SIG 550 variant, or pay the comparably modest premium to get a Draco, Draco Mini, or Draco Micro from Gunbroker...

Finally. I'll take the folding brace model however when it appears. Why offer it without? Good news though. I mean big time!

So to make one of these an SBR falls under 922r? I would like to make that pistol an SBR!!

Am I the only one who thinks these are way over priced? Tavors are in that price range around $1,695 from a local shop. I like the concept of having AK mags fit a new platform. Ive wanted one of these since I first saw them but I will pass.

Now if the price falls, they might sell damn well. But I honestly thnk bullpups will be the future, once they can refine them well enough there will be no reason to not want one. |

In the pistol version with brace your getting a brand new factory IMI(oops)IWI micro Galil for $1600ish. That's a win in my book. |

FYI, don't hold your breath on the brace. I emailed IWI twice about the ones for the Uzi Pro, and was straight up lied to.
"They're shipping now". Bullshit. 4 months later and no brace. |

Why do the pictures of the ACE I've seen had three trigger pins? Both the CG pic above and the one at Atlantic have that third pin.

First i have to find the form, where the 4uck is the form? I have to search the internet for it PITA. Then do I register it in my name or a trust, PITA? I have to find someone to engrave the reciever, PITA. I have to find the parts to comply with 922r, major PITA. I have to add $200 to the price of a $1500 firearm, PITA. VERSUS just going to a gun store and throwing down my $1500 to buy a rifle. Why bother is what most people will say. Let alone the fact that the ballistic performance from a 8" barrel has to suck. |

All of those things are conveniently located in one place on this very forum, not to mention multiple other forums. Most peoples' real issue is the $200 fee, because the typical gun owner scoffs at the idea of spending more than $300 on a gun (usually). They just use the other things you posted as excuses. Because in reality the process is actually quite simple if you give it more than a passing glance. Every time I try to suggest that people SBR or get a suppressor that's ultimately the case. Also, no, ballistic performance is actually very comparable between an 8" and 16" 7.62x39 gun. ETA: I'm not trying to sell you on the idea of SBR'ing, nor am I suggesting that what I said applies to you at all. Because I couldn't honestly care less if people SBR/SBS/supress/etc. In fact, less people pushing through stamps means mine get approved faster . |

Why bother is what most people will say. Let alone the fact that the ballistic performance from a 8" barrel has to suck.[ View Quote Doing an internet search is a PITA? Seriously, google. ATF eform and it's the first thing that comes up. That is not a PITA at all, it's easier than coming here for info. You do a trust if you are able to and not an idiot. Again, not PITA. Engraver, again, an internet google search away, not a PITA. 922r parts, more internet searching, not a PITA if it even applies(which with the Galil it will not) No offense, but maybe you are just one hell of a lazy SOB. Nothing you listed takes more than a few minutes on google and is easily done if you have the mental fortitude to use internet forums as you are doing. So I know you don't have an excuse for not doing it. Nothing you listed is any more difficult than actually just buying a gun normally. You have to research models, find dealers and so forth. So yes, to the uninformed buyer this can seem daunting, but anyone with the smarts and know-how to spend time on a gun forum should know better. Also ballistics for 8" from 7.62x39 are great. With a 16" barrel you only get about 10% more muzzle velocity and energy than with 8". So that's 100% more barrel for 10% more effectiveness. No thanks, for 7.62x39 I will stick with 7-9", 16 is just overkill. |

I am lazy I really just want to go to my FFL and pick it up. Also $200 is money I don't want to spend just to have an SBR. You could almost get 1000 rounds of 7.62x39 for that. If it was free or maybe $50 I might do it. But after spending $1500 already I'd rather buy ammo.
Oh, I almost forgot. What about the cost of bringing it up to 922r compliance, another couple hundred I bet. Don't want to file paper, don't want to wait, don't want to $pend, don't want to engrave, don't want to buy 922r kit when/if it becomes available. PITA |

PITA View Quote $200 when you are already talking a $1700 dollar gun isn't really enough that it should be a deal breaker to most people. And yeah, it could get you another 800 rounds or so, but I already have about 8K ready to go, so not a factor for me. If you can't afford to practice, you can't afford the gun anyway and should be looking at something cheaper to begin with. But to each their own, I spent $2300 on a SCAR and had no problem with the $1300 more it took me to SBR it just to shave a few inches. In the case of the Galil it is 922r compliant out of the box. It comes with a little notice that says so. And honestly, most people don't give 2 F's about being 922r compliant with their builds. Paperwork takes 10-15 minutes. Waiting is, well just waiting, you are going to remain alive then anyway, so there is no real impact. Seriously, these are all very small and minor things to deal with that becomes a PITA to you. I mean, I consider myself to be a pretty damn lazy person too whenever possible, but nothing there is more than 15 minutes of work to have a much better end result IMO. All you need to do is pick up your gun like you said you want to, spend 15 minutes on the ATF site between youporn visits, then make one more trip to an engraver as if it were a gun store. Everything is done there. I would say getting your hands on a Galil right now at a good price is harder than everything else you need to do. |
