Anyone know how to repair (replace) the original coating?

far as i know you dont. you try and keep it on there.
its why i have tossed around the idea of re-loading the stuff.
i dont know how many times you get till the coating is phucked



reloading forum and FNforum would be a better place to ask

4-5 times if you're careful. Clean with Simple green. No replacing it.

The 5.7 case has no taper in the main section of the case. The coating on the cases is an extraction aid for the straight blowback actions they are typically used in.
