I have a MPA M11 somewhere that turned out to be a ton of fun to shoot.
Got it for $100 and it was threaded 1/2x28 so why not |

http://www.handgunsmag.com/files/2013/02/Hi-Point-C9_001.jpg Hi-Point C-9 It's not really good if you've got more money to spend (I'm looking at you, Glock trade-ins), but for the cheapest beater you could imagine, it could be much worse. I expected Jennings-style function and reliability, but if you can get past the brick-style weight and ergonomics, they're accurate, reliable, and not finicky, at a price even a child with an allowance can afford. At least that's been my experience with a limited number of them from a few years ago. View Quote I remember watching IV8888's torture test of those and was very impressed But it is still an pot metal alien gun |

Not bottom of the barrel cheap, But I picked up my Rock Island 1911 for $350.
Shoots better than I can and has never given me any issues. |
|
Canik55 Stingray-C for $319 with two mags. Bought on a whim, but actually one of my favorite guns to shoot now. It's actually difficult to be inaccurate with this pistol. Walter PPX for $279 from CDNN. Shoots great, less filling. |
|
Citadel 9mm 1911 for $350 or so. It was a hell of a value because it runs like it should and is pretty accurate. RIA has the 9mm platform pretty much figured out.
|
|
Hi point 9mm carbine
Uncomfortable to shoot (sling swivel digs into my shoulder) but reliable and accurate |
|
SAM Elite 1911 (incredible 1911 for $341 shipped)
Taurus PT111G2 Mosin Nagant Tokarev P-83 (effing steal of a gun for $200 shipped @ Wideners) |
|
My Keltec P-32. Didnt have too high of hopes, just wanted somethign super small for pocket carry. Hasn't given me one hiccup and has been pleasant to shoot...

The Savage MKII I bought at Dicks in 2009/2010 for $99 was an excellent buy. It must have been a Dicks only model, or a leftover from way back, because I've not found anything about them online really. No Accutrigger (this is when they were pretty common), sporter barrel, wood laminated stock, and came with a 4x scope. Damn thing shoots cloverleaf groups too.
I also have several other old (no SN) 22's that I've paid $100 for +/- $20 for that are all phenomenal buys. Old 22's, especially department store guns, are one of those guns I don't ask I just buy if they're right around $100. |
|
DPMS Sportical. My first AR. I read tons and tons here shitting on the DPMS ARs but this one ran and ran no matter what I fed it. Shot better than I could.
|
|
Heritage Rough Rider 6.5" 22lr/22mag. $150 OTD for me.
Cheap knock off of a Single Action Army. Terrible sights. But damn is it fun to shoot. Makes you feel like a cowboy and the SO loves it I reckon it'd make a decent snake gun with some snake shot when I go for hikes. |

View Quote I picked up a heavy barrel Mark II BV with accutrigger on clearance at Dicks a few years ago for a little over $200, very nice gun for the money. It came with some cheap 4x scope too IIRC but I replaced it with a Mueller APV. |

$329 RIA 5" 1911
$206 Hi power copy sub $300 CZ 83 $600 PSA M4gery |

Hi-Point. Hard to think of a brand that gets more trash talk, but truth be told, the guns are reliable, accurate, and have surprisingly decent triggers. They are heavy as hell and ugly as sin but they work surprisingly well.

Taurus 738
can be had under $200 Great little pocket gun, points and shoots great, accurate |

Metro Arms American Classic II, bought it some years ago from a member here... has been 100% with a variety of ammo... well, almost 100%, it did choke on some mis-sized reloads.

Kahr CW9. Current one is at almost 5k. I shoot it as accurately as my glock/sig/m9/1911 inside of 15 yards.
Have a few of em now. 300 bucks with free shipping on buds, how could I not? |
|
Way back in the day I bought a FIE 380, it was a really cool gun for the money, also a Tauras model 99 a great shooter.
|
|
Old 12 gauge single shot break action H&R I bought at a gun show for $40 real fun too shoot.
|
|
I got an American Tactical 1911Commander for cheap a few yrs ago, and am quite pleased with it. Also, I have a few Taurus revolvers that don't disintegrate when I fire them! |

Sig P5's (aka a P225) for $250 when they were imported about 10 years ago.
S&W 67 police trade-in's for $150 "pre-ban" Gen 2 G19 trade-in for $300, came with night sights, original box and 2 pre-ban mags Hungarian/Styer M95 carbines, 2 for $95 shipped (stout recoil, a local FFL had ~250rds of nazi marked in clips I bought for $75) Can't forget the days of $50 MN 91/30's, $75 M38's and M44's, used to add them onto orders just to get free shipping (when shipping was more than $50 on an order) Bulgarian Makarov's for $175 Polish P65's for $150 IIRC (surprisingly good once given a trigger job and new springs.) Nagant Revolvers for under $100, triggers always suck but stupid levels of giddy fun when suppressed. While not as cheap as the above, it's worth mentioning because of how cheap they are in comparison to what they normally go for H&K P7 PSP $599 shooter grade and $699 A Grade |
|
Not really cheap as it is in the same price range as a Glock, but the Beretta PX4 I had never had a failure of any kind and was very accurate. It pulled double duty as my IDPA and CC gun for over 30k rounds.

I searched for a sub2k for years at non-scalper prices, finally gave up and bought a hi-point. Shoots well (though I did take the springs out of the stock, that shit drove me nuts) and the company is awesome to deal with. I called asking how much for a rear sight assembly after fucking around at 200 yards. The plan was to file a notch in the top of the plastic peep, to get a zero some where close to 200. I wanted the spare in case I fucked it up. After explaining that the guy said no problem I will send you one under the warrantly. I said no need as I was fairly certain taking a dremel to the sight was not covered and that it was a just in case I screwed up. He said, life time warranty, what is your address. I had it in less than a week free of charge. |

Not "cheap" but at $400, the Weatherby Vanguard (Howa 1500) base models are at the top end of the 'entry level' bolt guns. Mine consistently shoots sub-MOA for the first three rounds (I have a soda-straw barrel, it gets hot fast).
|
|
Mossberg Maverick 12ga pump---cheap version of the 500. Never had any issues with it
Romanian M1969 .22 Training rifle- atrocious trigger but that little rifle groups really well at 50yds |

I bought a beat to shit 9mm sub2k for 150.
Jammed like a muthafucker. Sent to KT, they fixed it. Ran like a champ. Sold it around Jan of 2013 with 4 32rd Glock mags for a giant wad of cash. Which surprised me because I put it on gunbroker for a dollar. Don't wish I had it back cause I really needed the money but that was a fun rifle |
|
VZ2008 - $400. Yes its a Century gun, but mine works perfectly and is a very gun gun. More accurate than the AK it resembles too.
Any swiss straight pull. The quality of the rifle is well above the $300 price they charge today. Blows my mind that not too long ago these were $100 rifles. I have three and want more. |

Mossberg ATR in 30.06 $275 (W/scope clearance from Bass Pro)
It's a damn accurate rifle and the crap Barska scope held up admirably and was surprisingly clear, for what it was. I never could wrap my head around the Barska scope being reliable and replaced it with a Nikon last year. It make's one hell of a "redneck sniper". It's a hell of a lot of fun to shoot, even IF Ohio won't let me hunt deer with it. I guess you could also include the $129 CZ-52, but I did buy that on it's reputation. $89 K-31s also, but again, their reputation kinda takes the surprise out of them. |

Taurus 709 Slim............it simply WORKS ........with all types of ammo

Taurus PT111 Gen 2. I bought one for $199 and was so pleasantly surprised that I picked up another. You can't beat it for the price. http://www.ajgunsmithing.com/images/pt111_02.jpg View Quote The local shop gets these in pretty frequently and I've been tempted, but have shied away so far because Taurus and $199. They FEEL damn solid, though, and owners seem to like them a lot. I might get one in the near future, even at the "new " $225 price. |
