I've acquired a bunch of random 2 1/2" .410 shells (slugs, buck and birdshot)

What can I get that'll be cheap and fun to shoot?

On the really cheap side, lots of single shot options, middle of the road is Mossberg 500.

There are lots of used but barely been shot 410's, kids out grow them very quick, and adults tend not to shoot them often due to ammo price.

I hate the .410 shotgun with a passion.  Especially when a person using one on the sporting clays range is hitting more clays than I am with my 12 gauge.

I have considered getting a Stoeger Uplander SxS  in .410 for awhile now.

You know that you want it, don't fight the urge

Would a 2.5" chambered Judge have more velocity with .45 Colt due to less of a jump to the barrel? I have no need for anything particular, just wondering if the shorter cylinder would make it less useless?

I have a Mossberg 500. Nice little shotgun. The wifey likes it because it's easy to handle.

It doesn't get a lot of air time from us, but it is a nice, easy-recoiling little toy.

Pick up a no frills single shot with a modified or full choke. you can get a cylinder bore if youd like, but its already hard enough to get any range out of a cylinder bore 12 ga, why restrict yourself further with less than half the shot size? And yeah i know some guys will say slugs and buck shot better through cylinder, blah blah blah, but in reality most things you do with a 410 (small game, skeet, dickin' around) are best served with birdshot anyway. buck and slugs have also shot well through many tightly choked shotguns i have used, and i personally think the dangers of running these rounds through these chokes in MODERN firearms is exaggerated or non-existent. Most are so overbuilt now its crazy. Just my .02, probably worth less then that; never assume something some guy on the internet says is gospel, make sure to do your research and make a decision based on YOUR NEEDS.

Not exactly cheap, but I would not mind playing with one.

Get one of those cheaper imported .22/.410 OU that are out.

They also have them in .22mag.

I had an old savage that I would keep in the tractor and a box of shells and would just shoot shit when out on the farm.

Was used to eliminate critters that were digging up the fields and under the barns and sheds.

Many a rabbit, yote, fox and other animals have fallen from the .410 of that gun.

I had one for a bit... never fired and then sold it for a profit. Doesn't look like there's anything too exotic/exciting out there in 410
