As a long time IMI Galil aficionado and collector,
It's good to see IMI finally able to bring a weapon into the country built around the basis of the original Micro Galil receiver,
with a more modern,"modular", layout.

That being said, the execution looks like hammered dog shit, and why in the hell in 7.62x39???

.....And of course, It's just not this:

Or this:

That's a Galil. The Ace is a Heinz 57 put-together butt ugly thing.

Congrats! I wish they would crank those out again. Wish I would have bought several more. Not to hijack but can I ask what you paid?

It seems IWI is doing what SIG did when they introduced the 556.

The American market wants the originals.....not some Americanized variation.

I'm sure they're likely good guns......but count me out for now.

Yeah, I just bought a pre ban Action Arms Galil and and ARS Galil clone.

I don't have any interest in the new one, but I would buy another original one if IWI started making them here in the US

2500 for the Action Arms SAR

1600 for the ARM Clone (done by ARS in 2003 on an ORF receiver)

I have to admit, I kind of like the ACE, or at least what it appears to be.  MAC gave it a positive initial review.

It shouldn't be too hard to change the stock on the ACE..............whenever they come out in 5.56 I will have one

What's wrong with the factory stock?  Yeah, it resembles the AR stock, but it's factory, not Tapco.

My only real potential gripe is that the gas tube rail might get too hot.

Nothing really.............but for those who want the original type stock there is that option

Not understanding the love for the original Galil. It looks better, sure.  But I'll take lighter weight with more rail space, better stock, and better charging handle.

I don't get the "I want a pretty rifle" thing. Most of the good fighting rifles are ugly: the AR, the AK, the SCAR, and so on.

Does anyone know what the deal is with the release of these rifles?  Why is IMI dragging their feet?  I suspect it is because the rifle market's bottom seems to be falling out right now, but I don't know.  Pleas post if you do know.
