Trading a S&W model 642 and have been offered a Glock 27 and an M1 carbine. What do you guys think the better trade is? Glock is like new in box and M1 is slightly used.

The Smith 642 is a $400 revolver. Someone is willing to give you a Glock AND and an M1 Carbine?

Do it before they come to their senses....

Will need a lot more info on the M1 before this becomes a good trade or not...

Sorry, I reread your post and edited mine.

I see it's an either-or, not both.

Their both in line with the value of your Smith. Either one works, so it's up to you if you want one over the other.

Sorry I should have worded my first post better. It's two different offers.

I would go with the Glock.

Have you tested the carbine?  Could be a jamomatic......how expensive and readily available is 30 carbine in your area?....... I would take the glock myself

Pretty much comes down to your own preference assuming all is well with both of them.

Just pick the one you like better.

If it had been a USGI M1 Carbine I would have immediately said do it. Since it is not, and I cannot believe these words are going to come out of my mouth, get the Glock.

Trade for the Carbine and then sell it.

I like the Glock, but a 40 in that small of a pistol, it  will have a bit of bite to it. One the other hand, the 30 cal. is not my thing at all and like others have said, it could be problematic with getting parts and ammo..

Between those two I would trade for the Glock.

Having shot a G27, once, not something I would want.
I would trade for the M1.

Carbines around here are a pretty penny I would go with it.

Glock, and I hate Glocks.  Not sure I'd take an Auto-ord M1 carbine as a gift.

GI carbine would be a completely different story.
