Not all of us are on point when it comes to new gun news (me especially), so I was hoping to start a thread about new guns coming out in 2015, or really any rifles/pistols that have a realistic chance of coming out in the near future.

I'll just start by posting these:

the IWI galil (bangswtich article says maybe out in march)

http://www.israel-weapon.com/?catid={813E02F8-D6E3-48B1-A0D4-171BBDD46E28}

http://www.thebangswitch.com/the-new-iwi-galil-ace/

the desert tech mdr (pricing is out, so probably next year)

http://deserttech.com/mdr.php

http://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2014/10/29/desert-tech-mdr-pricing/

If you know of any others, please enlighten me, I'd love to start saving for something now

You might disagree but has there ever been a better buyers market for guns?  After two terms under Klinton and Obama, youd think wed only be able to own bb guns but today you can pretty much buy any fucking gun you want.  Yeah, m16s are ridiculous but i dont think youve had this many choices ever.

A galil that takes ak mags - fucking awesome.  (I wonder why the israelis even went with 556 over the ak mags originally.)

Still waiting on SIG for the MPX.

looks like we can add the cz scorpion and bren to the list

the scorpion doesnt really interest me, and the bren is out of my price range for a "just to try out" gun

No interest here in a G36 in that trim. Make it look like the traditional models, and I'm in. If it doesn't cost the usual HK arm and a leg.

I've been focusing on tax stamps this year, so not many new guns.  I did build a fun bump gun

Next year I think I'm going to try and find a MAC.  I'll see how everything looks after taxes are done.  After that I think I'll be trying to get an AR180.  I've been liking the look of those and it's not like they're going back into production.  I figure I've got a few years for all these new rifles to stabilize in price, better pick up the old ones that aren't being made anymore.

You guys are preaching to the choir. I try to stay out of the sub forums here because every time I browse a pic thread, I have a new lust (right now it's an Israeli style fal). The ar180 is another gun I want, if NDS comes out with their upper kit that uses ar15 barrels, I'm getting one

Looks cool but I'm not digging that 4 round mag.  Although, the tan gun appears to take hicaps.

What kinda mags?  If not AR mags I don't think I'd waste the 2 large they'll probably want for it.

Also for those interested in an AR180.  As much as I like them I have one I've never shot that's mint and I'm probably gonna Gunbroker it.  It's a Costa Mesa but I don't like that it has it's own unique mags.  Too nice to shoot.

And I agree with Leonardo and therex about those MCX guns but have yet to see the internals.  What the fuck does SIG have in there?  Talk about taking ARs to the next level.

I'm sure it is decent, but if it costs $2K then there are better options out there. Galil  ACE, CZ's new offerings or even the Beretta ARX. ARX is similar but with a much better control layout. G36 is more or less for the novelty effect.

I believe it has a metal trunion now. The rail can be removed and the standard g36 handguard used.

So you can get the classic look

Last rumor i heard on hkpro was due to hk financial problems this was dead

A lot of hype over the years. The only significant things that developed are piston ARs and SCAR. The rest is hype as far as I'm concerned (ACR, FS2000, PS90, ACR, and many others I cant remember now). Even the Tavor hype will go away and will be another gun in the safe. When it comes down to it a quality AR15 is still my go to weapon. Everything else is just for fun.

G36 is dead for now.

Even if it was still on, who cares? It doesn't fully appeal to collectors because it isn't original. It also doesn't appeal as a practical tactical because the design was never really great anyhow - not to mention price. Lame

Interesting... I have always heard that the G36 trunnion was polymer.

Even though I have heard about the issues that were caused by the G36 trunnion I'm guessing that this must be better than the non existent trunnion on the Beretta ARX-100?

ARX trunnion is thermal ceramic coated on the outside to limit heat transfer to the poly receiver.
Beretta states that the barrel will melt before the receiver.
Considering that the ARX uses a pencil profile barrel, this is probably true.

I thought I read in an old article around maybe 2009/2010/2011, that there was a ceramic heat shield used in the trunnion around the barrel extension, but I think that this may not be correct.

I think the ceramic heat shield is the "barrel front guide" seen at the inside front of the handguards around the gas block and piston on the ARX-160 A1/A2 and pre-release prototype 2013 ARX-100s.

On the ARX-160 A3 the "barrel front guide" was changed to aluminum and was also included on the ARX-100s before being shown at the 2014 Shot Show and the 2014 NRA show.

The reason I bring this up is because after looking into the barrel extension/trunnion area of the ARX-100 all I see is the same "Techno Polymer" that the whole upper receiver is made out of, even the guide rails and all of the surrounding area are made from the same "Techno Polymer".

Unless there is a ceramic insert hidden under the polymer in the chamber area, though that would kind of defeat the purpose of it altogether.

Edit: I now have an e-mail out to Beretta about the rumoured ceramic trunnion.

I need this in my life. I'm a huge bullpup fan and have always wanted a quality 7.62x51mm bullpup. I plan on getting an LTM MWS308 for my next rifle, so it's nice to know that I can get a 7.62x51mm bullpup and not have to invest in different mags. Also, it's kind of cool that I can change it to 5.56mm if I so desire.

Someone in GD just put out a post about Daniel Defense coming out with a rifle in 7.62...of course there was zero substantiation in the post, and DD has zero about it on their website.

Regardless, I am a huge DD fan, and think they would do great with a 7.62-based rifle in their lineup.
