Looking to buy a long gun after Christmas, can't decide on anything. Any recommendations? The only long guns I have curently are a PSA Midlength AR, 10/22, and Henry levergun 22. Thanks

ETA:

Options I'm currently considering

Mini 14 (new 581 series)
kinda pointless since I already have an AR
Beretta CX4 Storm
Rossi M92 357 16"

I do not want a shotgun or a bolt gun in larger than 5.56. I have no where to shoot either one of those.

Ruger Ranch Rifle from Walmart for $627. I've got one on layaway I'm picking up in a few weeks.

.357 lever gun! That's what I want. I suppose a 30-06 wouldn't be a bad purchase either.  Model 70/700 and lotsa leftover cash for bipod, cheek weld, optic.

If you're just wanting to mess around, I love both of my Mosins. Or maybe a Beretta Storm?

Tikka T3 in a 260 or 280.  Or a similar Weatherby Vanguard in the same caliber.  Depends if you like detachable magazines or not.  Great for anything from paper, varmints and large game.  And a Nikon scope.

Of the three you mentioned go with the Mini or the Storm, since you already have a AR maybe a Storm in 9MM.

Savage makes a 16" tacticool 17hmr.  It is on my next to purchase list.  Only 20 or so fps is lost in 17hmr from shortening a barrel from 22" to 17".  I also want to get my son's 17 cut down.  I love the 17hmr.  To the point that I hardly ever shoot the .22s anymore.

There is a nice bolt gun series out there that just happens to be AR mag friendly.

This is the gun you want. Super fun.

Just make sure you change out the ejector spring. It helps a ton for feeding.

Any issues with it besides that? I've heard it can be finicky with different bullet shapes. I did handle one yesterday at the LGS and it felt like an SBR it was so short.

I run plated, hard cast and hp w/out issue. Wad Cutters may have issues feeding.
had the wood redone, locally

became bored with a run of the mill lever and decided to quiet it down.  125 MG hp's sound like a suppressed 22. QUIET it is.

Just a tad (1/4") if that shorter. If My BLR-92 (just a tad away from  NIB) in .357 wasn't such an unobtainium / collector unit. It would be the next bbl to thread.

Most of the feed issues with the Rossi M92 are because the ejector spring is way too stiff.

It keeps the ejector proud of the breech face which changes the approach angle for feeding.

My would take 38's but not 357. Changed out the spring and now it feeds most everything.

Obviously wadcutters and some semiwadcutters will have issues because of the sharp lip.

Mine doesn't want to feed the first round of .38 but works fine after that.  OP, if you are far sighted at all, get the 20"

Decide if you want lever, bolt or semi... then take your $750 - save another $750 (or more) - and put it toward the purchase of a quality firearm. Quality is key.

Really? I paid $700 cash for a NIB M1S90 with accessories i didn't know were available.

I'll take my stock MVP against your $1500. 223  Probably not as fancy a name as your rifle, but it hits what i aim at, consistently.
