Hi all! I recently decided to mod my Mosin Nagant and remove the rear iron sight to put on a UTG scope mount rail.
It can be quite hard to do this because of the two pins you have to remove in order to slide the sight off..
I had no luck with punching them out so I ended up drilling through them. Well without a proper drill press and experience
It came out a little sloppy and I drilled a tiny bit lower than the second pin hole. I'm no gun expert so I really don't want to take this to the range
unless I know it's safe. I've taken it to the range before I decided to mod it and everything was perfect. Do you think it'll be okay? and if not, is there anyway I can fix it? if not I'll just buy a new barrel with the iron sight already off.

Sorry for the blurry pics, in need of a phone upgrade lol

Thanks!
-Pat

Probably. But if you have to ask yourself it is worth it to take it to a smith to be sure.

Thanks! I already feel bad for tearing this thing apart
