My need? Id like to target shoot some at about 100 yards but would like the ability to go much further. I may try to deer hunt local "coastal NC" but not to often, Also looking to take a Thanksgiving hunting trip to WV. So I am looking for a low end target gun/hunter.

What I have found new and used

All Savages
New Axis $260 and putting different scope and stock on it. So would have boyds stock $100 and prob $150 glass so right under $500 for something kinds custom.
11 Used has 24" bull barrel looks new was a dicks special for about $550 a year or two ago. Crappy stock and looks like so few were made there are no other options. $400 no scope
11/111 found used but looks new was a combo that sold for $529 and has Nikon scope regular barrel $375 used
What got me looking was a Savage 10p at $550 new with no scope I am still considering it.
All but the Axis have the accutrigger. I think the 11/111 might have accustock but non of the rest do.

walmart had savage 110/111 w scopes and accu triggers for $350 here in SEVA.

Axis II has the accutrigger.  Worth the cost difference IMHO.

I went with the Ruger American in .30-06. Got it for $300 shipped. Got a great deal on a Prostaff 5 3.5-14x40 mildot for like $270.  I was initially leaning Savage 111 but the Ruger bolt gave a little more room passing the optic and the Savage only came with packaged scopes. I wanted mildot, so I had to go more than 3-9.

I think I am leading toward the 11/111
