I'm on a tight budget being a farmer with bad crop year, any way, I build all my targets and only shoot paper when sighting in. I've used dozer track pads, disc blades, blades off 15ft mower, anything hardened I can find, but they aren't a good shape at all usually. So obviously I can build the stands, but don't want to pay big money for 6-8" circles with hanging holes.

Any sources for $50 or under AR500 targets?

By the way, for fellow diy/budget guys the track pads and mower blades are basically indestructible. I've shot with 223 at 25yds for test, nothing, 7.62x54r at 75-100 yds also nothing

I found some on amazon, $20 for 6"x1/2" with hanging holes, almost seems to good to be true, good reviews though. Last time I looked everything was $100+, hence the reason for this post, now I feel a little stupid.

Lots of vendors out there with AR500 targets under $50 each. Look for something 3/8" ar500 4-12" . Should ship flat rate that way.

JC Steel has good prices, and the proceeds go to Jubilee Youth Ranch.

sounds to me like you want an old disk break rotor? maybe weld 2 together to fill the center hole?

For the time and effort you put into welding two break rotors together and filling the middle, you can get an AR500 target of the same size for under $50, and have a target that will last longer and be safer.

As cheap as I am, I don't think that it's practical. I had one and studied it but the hub sticking out probably isn't safe, and the hole is to hard to fill with something hardened.

brake rotors are too brittle... they dont last long.

Prices on www.shootsteel.com aren't bad.  You can spend as little or as much as you want on there.  Many reasonably priced options.

ebay has several 12"x12" squares with holes for 31.31.  Not too shabby.
