Assuming you had some fun money and wanted to buy a gun to commerate a special event:
Russian M44 with 440rnds of ammo ($250+shipping from jg sales)
S&W Highway Patrolman ($550~)
SKS norinco in unfired condition ($375)

It will always be different for different people, what guns do you already have, etc. For me it would be the S&W because I already have the others......

Get the Smith. Way more SKS's and M44's out there.

S&W.

I'd go SKS.  Chinese are not imported any longer with a few exceptions.  Will go up in value and is very reliable.

Plus I love Russian designed rifles

I'd get the Smith. That's a damn fine pistol.

Depends on your interests: if you're into collectible firearms, get the S&W. If you're into fun guns, get the SKS or M44. As stated above,
there are a lot more SKS and M44 rifles out there than that S&W. That should weigh heavily upon your decision. Keep us posted, either way!

The SKS if legit and not beat up is the best deal.

SKS no question.

You know, I like the SKS and the M44 and maybe it's because I own both that I'm going to say this, but I'd get the Highway Patrolman.

Maybe it's also because I've been kicking myself for years about the one I passed on.

I doubt you can go wrong with any of them, but that's how I'd go at this moment.

But I would go with the Smith.

Yes I had a S&W  model 28 years back. it's built on the big N frame. Great 357.

I've seen PAP 92's. AK Pistols for $399.00, free shipping. far better resale than any SKS

the old nagants ....... I can find older used 30-06/270/308 110 Savages ect.that will shoot circles around a nagant.

model 28 is a go!

Hmmn, toughie:

Highway Patrolman is somewhat overpriced at $550, though they do keep going up in price.
M44 would mean dealing with the retards at J&G.

That leaves the Chicom SKS.  Don't know if that's a decent price or not.  SKS prices got stupid high a while back, and I don't know where they have stabilized.

Ow! That sucks.

Anymore that is a damn good deal on the SKS, though. She should be a good shooter, too. All the Chinese SKS' I've owned have been .

If the S&W is in very good condition, get it. Shoot some .38 wadcutters through it. It will feel like shooting a .22

I had a lot of fun with an SKS, and then sold it.
I also have a lot of fun with S&W .357's. Still have 2 of them.
So yes, the patrolman.

I would buy the SKS, probably because its worth more than that if its a Norinco.

SKS or M44, I'll narrow it to two for you.
