your series on these don't help me decide which one I want or if I should pick up a Sig 556 instead

Color me surprised!
I have been on the fence for a while between these 2 rifle options and your videos presented the best comparison between the 2. After the first set of videos, I really thought you were favoring the SCAR! I am surprised you actually have grown to like the ACR. I have handled both and am still very much on the fence, the SCAR was winning out, but you discussed several items about the ACR in this vid that have made me want to give it another look and see what I think for my intended use. Great vids, keep up the good work! |

I have always favored the ACR for some reason I can't explain. I have been waiting to see if any of Remingtons upgrades will find there way into the Bushy version.

I think I'll wait on it. Don't want to buy a rifle that will fade into obscurity.

in 5.56 it matters little, in 7.62 the SCAR17 is peerless

Lots of people hate on the ACR, until they shoot it a bit. One of my Arfcommer friends dogged me for months after I bought one. After shooting it he admitted that he wouldn't mind owning one himself. I like it a lot, and I absolutely love the ergonomics. Using an AR15 is kind of a challenge these days, though.

Scar 7.62 for the win!
Screw 5.56 ACR or scar 5.56! ACR n scar 16 are no better than high value ar15s! All equal in my book and do the same things. |

I wouldn't sell or trade a good AR for either rifle. That's not to say the SCAR or ACR aren't marginally better in some aspects, but certainly nothing revolutionary. I will always have an AR (or 5 of them) in the safe. For the money, you can't beat a good AR - period. |

So you know, while remington has said they have to push back the conversions to september now because they just dont have the barrels right now, they are selling all the parts for conversions if you wanna use a ar barrel or use a extra acr barrel. You can get all the parts for a conversion for about $380 and send it with a ar barrel and marvin pitts is doing the builds right now. People are trying to get 300blk to work right now but have done some different calibers already.
This kind of puts it in a different league then the scar since you can get a whole nother caliber for less than a scar barrel. But when the bushmaster conversions come out they will be even cheaper. You can get all the part numbersfor what you need over at the acr forum and if your doing a carbine length then marvin has a custom piston support you will need. Im not affiliated with anybody just a gun loving american! :) but pretty cool huh? Wish I had a acr! |
