THE IMAGE ABOVE IS A PAID ADVERTISEMENT
I have had an Interarms 7mm Mag for sell in the EE for a week or so now. It is nothing special to look at I know, but I feel like it is priced to sell, but still no hits whatsoever. I understand it is not uber-tactical like everything else moves on the EE so quick. I understand as well that old hunting rifles are not hot ticket items these days. There is nothing wrong with it - I just need to move it. Any recommendations? not expecting a big profit - what is fair market value for this? stock is in fair shape, bluing is in good shape. Thanks

I just looked up the completed auctions on gunbroker.
It looks like most are selling for $325 to $350.
I would say you are in the correct range, it's just about finding the right buyer.
The two outliers were one sold for $600 and another for $250.
I think part of the problem is you can get a new Savage or Marlin for about the same price.

Tough to sell a hunting rifle in the spring, the price usually has to be VERY attractive to make the sale.
I've tried to see things from the liberal point of view ... but I'm just not flexible enough to get my head up my ass.

If it had the express sights I'd be all over it.

Hunting rifles in general are tough to move. Very competitive market, a new Savage can be had for 300+. And many hunters have very particular ideas about what they want. As always if you want to move it fast you've got to price it low.

If it was the Whitworth version I'd be all over it.

unfortunately I believe the caliber is holding your sale up. The 7 RM isn't that popular anymore and especially in a chunky commercial '98 mauser. If it were .375 H&H, .458win, 30-06, or .270win it would probably go. Most guys that would buy that combo are just looking for a donor action at a good deal. you may want to try a mauser specific or hunting site to sell it on. I would try "Mausercentral" or "24hourcampfire".

best of luck,

I really like the earlier Yugoslavian made Mk X's - superbly made.

I'm tempted....
