Maybe I am dying and she just has not told me about it. Either way I will take it. Now I just have to find a SCAR 17s that is in stock and not over $3k. Today is a good day.

Anyone no a good place to obtain one?

Bought mine from Champion Firearms in College Station.

They are/were a site sponsor here.

Mike and Kate are good people.

I fell in love with my SCAR. To be honest, it was just a safe queen gun until I took it hog hunting. Just fell in love.

I called them earlier and it looks like they are supposed to have a few in some time next week. So I had them add me to their notification and sent them an email to see if the can temporarily hold one for me when they come in. Since the drive from San Antonio to College Station is 3 hours, I would hate to drive all the way there, just for someone to buy the last one while I am driving there.

The only down side to buy one seems that most of the places that sell them seem to be based in TX. This means another $200 in taxes.

Local joint here wants $2999.99 for their SCAR-17S.

That's a huge purchase so to all the folks complaining about his man card, that's a lot of money for most folks these days.

OP have you tried out google shopping? There is a bunch of places listing them for <$2800. The trick is finding one that is in stock.

Yea that has been the issue. I have found several for around $2750ish, but not in stock. However, I have signed-up for notification when they are in stock, so we shall see. Champion Firearms is selling it for $2,730. That is before tax though.

Looks like if all goes well, I have found one near by for $2750 with only 20 rounds through it.
This rounds on me.

It really is a little much for me to spend right now, but I figured, since I want one I better do it before the election season. If our Overlord gets re-elected, I am afraid of how difficult it will be to obtain some of the items on my wish list. On the other hand, even if he loses, the firearms market may still take a year or two to settle down again.

If you think it's hard finding the rifle in stock, start searching for mags.

Actually it does not appear to be that difficult to find. You just have to have patience and spend some time looking. Going to be buying 5 extra mags on the 31st for about 34$ each.

I end up spending a more on ammo for my 16s than 17s. I tend to blast through 5.56 so the cost actually of ammo ends up being higher than the 17s.

Because I can get an AR that works almost as well for way cheaper then the 16. The whole point is that I want a 308. For a few hundred more I got a 17s which is where the SCAR really excels.
