How are you guys doing color fill with cerakote?  Baking the base color for so long, adding color fill, but is the base layer cured enough to clean up any excess without marking it up?  Got an m&p that's going OD green with black color fill, but I'm not sure the best way to accomplish it.

Educate me arfcom.

To answer my own question, yes flashing the base coat is good enough to use acetone to clean up the color fill.  Only issue is it's not very thick so hard to get good coverage.  But worked.

I'm not sure what you mean by color fill. But you should not need to use acetone after the first degreasing. Are you doing a two tone? Describe the project a little more.

I'll take a guess. He colored the entire receiver one color then wants to color in the rollmarks/script.

Sorry took so long, haven't checked back.  Just an m&p slide, nothing too exciting.

Looks good but you have some black smudging around the colorfill. I use a paper towel with some acetone or acetone free nail polish remover (I use nail polish for my colorfill) and wipe over to get the smudges off. Keep using a clean part of the paper towel and you should get a clean colorfill.
