I'm sure by now everyone has seen the gold like finish on once was a polished stainless fire arm part or all over.   Sure it looks tacky, a gold gun has its place in Hollywood, but it seems like a extremely durable finish.  I was thinking about getting my s&w 693 done, every piece they can.  
The only reason I was thinking to polish it first was that it would be easier to wipe off.  Let me know your opinions, ideas, and objections.
