What are the chances I can nail the same color tone on this new APEX Romanian upper handguard? I have done research and everything says the old WASR 10 Wood was never treated yet it has a nice red tone to it. Is it different wood than this part I got from APEX?

My goal is to get the old WASR look and I'm ahead with the exception of my current upper handguard.

that wood is bone dry and desperately needs some amber shellac on it, like this:

That is wood from Apex that I just stripped and put two thinned coats of Bullseye amber shellac on.

That looks pretty damn good! I'll look Bullseye shellac up. Thanks
