So I finally got my stripped upper and lower receivers cleaned and ready to paint. My question is should you protect the holes for all the controls from getting paint in them ? do you scrape the spray paint out of the holes before you install the LPK ?

usually just takes one strip of tape across the top and one around the extention threads.  you can wad some newspaper in there before taping the top.

Rattle can. Doing 1 solid color then wanted the black controls un-painted

$3 pack of various vacuum caps from local auto parts store in FCG holes, and stuff w/ paper towel with a piece of tape on the top

I put modeling clay in all of the holes I wanted to protect (hammer pin, mag release, trigger pin, etc) with tape on the threads for the receiver extension/buffer tube.
