I did some Google work, and found some good options. I've been using acetone and a tooth brush, but that's not gonna cut it on this big rail I'm working on. It's a DD RIS II in the dark earth color with NSN numbers, cage codes, etc.

What's the safest bet in removing the spray paint on it and not effecting any of the factory markings? I know there's some spray on foam that will remove all paint, but sounds risky. Citristrip sounds like a good option, and I have goofoff or googone already, leaning more natural.

I've used Citristrip on a Spikes upper and rail with no adverse effects to the factory finish.

Great stuff. I've used it on plastics with no ill effects.

Any local sources for this or is it a order item? I.E. Walmart, Lowe's, etc. not too many specialty shops around.

I like citrustrip, but I find I want a hammer to kill a fly...

Kleen strip is the way to go, and won't damage your parts at all. Used it many many times.

Just research and get the proper safety equipment first. That stuff burns!

Can Kleen Strip or Citristrip, for that matter, be used on AICS skins and optics?
