I have a beater mosin stock. I've sanded, stained, sanded and stained.

I've come up with a look that I like. Sort of battle worn and weathered.

I'd like to seal and protect he wood without a shine to it. What can I use to accomplish this? There are parts of the stock that are bare wood.

IRC Mosins were  shellac ed. You could use linseed oil thinned with denatured alcohol. Should help keep it from building and getting glossy if that's the finish you're going for.

Minwax Antique Oil finish.  Three coats, let last one dry 48 hours, buff with Johnson's floor wax and scotch brite or 0000 steel wool.  Enjoy.
