Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Matte Finish for 7075 Buffer tube (Gloss Black)

I have a couple of LMT Buffer tubes that have their dry film lube wearing off, one is completely worn off.

I want to take the black glossy finish outside and make it matte. I've heard that you can take Lye or Ammonia and a Scotch-Brite and and get a good dull matte finish.

Lye is usually used to strip anodizing......Ammonia will bleach the anodized layer and can etch the aluminum






Cerakote and KG Gun Kote have dry film lube
