Call me crazy, call me stupid, I'll put that sh*t on a nametag and wear it to work, but I had a random thought today:  I really like the Crusader lower that Spike's makes, and I thought it may be comical to build a very basic carbine out of one but in a religious/Catholic style.  I was thinking all white, with gold accents and some purple or maroon on it as well.   The rifle wouldn't be a shooter, just something to of a conversation piece.

Am I the only person that thinks it would be entertaining?  Would paint be adequate for that, or would it pay to do it "right"?   With AR parts as cheap as they are right now, it wouldn't be a high investment, and at any point it could be redone in standard config or simply shot as it is.

I rattlecanned a rifle white. I liked it.

Here is the lower in primer, with an upper in MSN colors. That's after the strip and repaint. I can't find any pictures of the whole gun in white.

I was trying to color match the butterfly the second go around.

Sorry, I wasn't so careful about taking pictures back then.

I durcoated a shotgun in white snow camo for a customer and the biggest issue was that every time you touched it, it looked dirty.  So if you were just going to hang it on the wall it would look fine but if you shot it much it would look like crap.

Yeah, it would be 100% display piece...no shooting, no oil or carbon.

Why?

After some beating around on it, it would look great.

If it's going to be a display piece only get a visually accurate airsoft style rifle and do it to that.
