Has there been any feedback from people who have used various ones?

both claim to have some form of bonding technology now.  I use both and notice very little difference.  Heck I've even used both on the same rifle

Not too much more involvement either, just some cure time and heating up the parts and can before applying it.

Never used Arvoe or Alumahyde but I have had good results with Majic Camo paints.

They're an oil based paint. Not sure about Krylon or Rustoleum.  Which I have also used.

I have used Rustoleum and Krylon and another one that is camouflage colors I got at the surplus store. All seem to be equally durable.

I have been using matte finish after the paint and it seems like that helps lengthen the durability.

ETA: I'm thinking of painting a shotgun stock in urban digital camo and have been thinking about using Arevoe.

I rattle canned an AR i had a few years back using krylon and it came off very quick. I figured the same would've happend when i sprayed my PWS mk114mod1with Rustoleum... but this shit is barely wearing at all! Its held up really well. I hit it with powder blast and it still took elbow greese to get it off.

Rustoleum FTW

If you're looking for a rattle can job that doesn't involve any other curing steps, this is your answer.

I have personally used Krylon, Rustoleum, and Aervoe camo rattle can products.  All without any prep work beforehand (wiping down, degreasing, etc).

Aervoe, hands down, is the most durable.

I find them all to be equally durable. Especially if you follow up with 3 light coats of Valspar flat clear. Here is my latest using Rustoleum. The Savage Hog Hunter in .308 with 2-7 Leupold.

Damn....you might wanna tie a piece of blaze orange trail tape on that thing somewhere in case you drop it in the woods!

When the surface is prepped correctly krylon is the best.

Shake the cans for 60 seconds and then put them in a bucket of hot water. It raises the pressure in the can and makes the paint cover so smooth. We used to do this when painting bigger objects like bikes and cars. (Yes with spray paint...)

All I know is that the Krylon I used was a bitch to get off.

IMHO Krylon and Rustoleum work great - until you get cleaning solvents/lube on them.

I stripped my Rustoleum and Krylon paint and just painted one with Aluma-Hyde II Earth Brown.

Very impressed with how it came out. Looks good and is more durable than the standard spray paints.

(It isn't completely matte on smooth metal surfaces, but not bad either.)
