I have a mag tac lower on the way that is factory cerakoted in FDE.
Thing is, I want to get it engraved for a .22lr SBR build.
Is there a cheap option to color fill the lettering that gets engraved?
Most people around here want $50 or more to cerakote a lower which is ridiculous since it's already got cerakote on 99.87% of it.

Is there a $3 solution or do I need to bite the bullet?

They probably want 50$ because you just don't spray the letters. If they were to Cerakote the lower, they are probably pricing respraying the entire thing.

You can color fill with Cerakote, but it is more finicky than something like Testors enamel, but there is a trade off in durability.
