Enjoyed my first camo job, so this time I went for aesthetics.
Plain black is boring so brown it is in just the upper, lower, and rail. This one's a truck/home defense gun, so it won't see field use unless the S really HTF. Attached File |

It wasn’t a matter of wearing in...you could see the contact marks in the paint between the stock and the buffer tube. I had to take a dowel with some 200 grit sand paper and take some material from the inside of the SOPMOD. It was so tight before, holding the rifle by the stock, muzzle down, and depressing the adjustment lever, the weight of the entire rifle with full magazine, suppressor and Aimpoint wasn’t enough to make it budge. |

Looking for some inspiration. I duracoated this beater several years ago in burnt bronze. I’d have to use that as a base color so I’m looking for suggestions on something on top of it in a pattern.

I didn't base coat my rifles. Just a stripe here, a stripe there, until no black was left. |

Inspired by Swedish M90 I was too cheap to buy a proper stencil so I made my own. Laid down strips of painters tape, slightly overlapping, on a smooth glass surface. Once I had a big enough rectangle/square I used a razor blade to cut random geometric shapes out and place them on the gun before a new coat of paint was applied. Definitely went on a little thick in some spots, but I blame the beer and getting excited to see it finished. View Quote YEEEEEAAASS |
