Pseudo-multicam scheme on my new AR build.

Layers:
1 - Rustoleum Earth Brown
2 - Rustoleum Khaki
3 - Rustoleum Army Green w/ Krylon Satin Italian Olive highlights
4 - Rustoleum Sand w/ Rustoleum Deep Forest Green highlights

If I did it again, I'd use more of an almond/off-white for the second coat instead of khaki.

-Rail, upper, and lower have the more traditional bean shapes
-Stock is more of a tiger stripe pattern
-Magazine uses more geometric shapes

Do you mind telling me the colors you used and how you did it? Sponge technique? I think that would work well around here.

Thinking about adding some dark gray and dark OD green to this one. I like the RAL 8000, but I think it would look mean with some accents.

I can't seem to leave this one alone. I wasn't sure if I'd like painting over the RAL 8000, but I like the way it turned out.

Thanks guys!

I followed the start light and go darker rule

RAL8000 for the base coat
Rustoleum olive drab green - wide streaks
Rustoleum automotive dark gray primer - thinner streaks over the olive drab
Rustoleum dark camo brown  - very thin streak in the middle of the gray primer

Took about 30 minutes and was actually kind of a shoddy job

I finally butted up and painted one of my ARs.

Started with this, except I took the foregrip off before I started painting since it's not gonna stay on the gun regardless since I want a KAC VFG. Also, couldn't bring myself to paint my PRO so that got removed and I'll be buying a tan rubber cover for it.

This was right after I finished.

I used Krylon Sand, Krylon Brown, and Krylon Olive. Sand base coat, then Brown applied in stripes. Put a mesh bag over it and sprayed the Sand over the Brown stripes and the Brown over the Sand stripes. Then a couple Olive stripes through the bag going the opposite direction. It should work around my area rear round.

And this is it with the mag I painted separately. Not a perfect match but I think I'm gonna do this to all my unpainted magazines.

Thanks.

Sure thing, but I didn't take any photos of the other side (photoshop license was expired and that's where engraving is) so this will have to serve as a placeholder till later tonight.

ETA:

Sorry that took so long. I have two very little kids and finding a moment to dig out and take a pic of a rifle has become an ordeal.

I finally got the nerve to spray paint a lower a little while ago. I like how it turned out but I'll probably end up repainting the whole thing. Should I strip the lower as best I can for a second painting or just paint over it?

Also, where are you guys finding the Krylon Camo? I haven't seen it in any of the Lowes or Walmarts I've been in.

Don't strip it. Just paint over it. It's gonna wear over time anyways.

Hopefully I'll get a pass on this not being an AR, this is just the most active thread. And this is rattlecanned.

Thank you.  I tossed out the can but the brand was Aervo.  The color name wasn't OD Green, I think it may have been called Forest Green.  I baked it on at 140 degrees for 30 minutes.

I would have guessed "Ammo Can Green" for the color.

Getting some interesting wear on on the top layers of paint. The brown and green are slowly fading away and the tan is beginning to show through again.

The holes in the target were not all one group.
