You guys are going to laugh when I tell you. I'll edit this post with the info in a bit. Here you go: I used three colors. Sand, medium brown (Flat Brown), and dark brown (Earth Brown). Here's some shitty phone pics. Light layer: Medium (nozzle clogged while spraying of course): Dark brown in the middle of the medium: Then... a dryer sheet (USED). Pull on it a bit to open up a pattern, then spray over it with the dark color. [/url] I didn't take my time with this, and handled it while wet, so it's sub par lol. But there ya go. |

I've seen nozzles for sale for specific brand spray cans that spatter the spray but i suspect you clogged the nozzle yourself.
Request what you did for that effect. Thanks |

I tried a reddish brown primer and it was way toooo red so I covered it up with brown. no idea if it will wear through and look like shit later LOL. I just use all ultra flat. khaki base with the earth brown random stripes and then MK12 thread mesh bag piece (literally I got a piece off a MK12 cloner mailed to me LOL. so hard to find!) with brown to fade from solid brown to mesh, then the dark green random lines. no black this time and only the brown was meshed. I don't like too much mesh look. this time I left a good amount of khaki showing, its very tricky to get it right. some tips: -tan or khaki (your choice) first. get rifle coated -do brown streaks, use different angles and spray closer and stop and start halfway through receiver or rail....tigerstripe looks cool.....but doesn't blend as much. -green can touch brown, but I try and do a TAN, green/brown, TAN, green/brown flow throughout -about halfway through you WILL SAY: oh shit I fucked up" lol. just keep going. -temperature...I sprayed this when it was 50deg. its possible, but 60 or above is nicer |

Aervoe Field Drab with Valspar clear flat.(I'd skip the clear next time)
" /> |
|
|
Has anyone tried to match Aervoe field drab with something from krylon or ? I have an upper/lower/scope/mount done in aervoe FD but I won't have enough to do a new stock and handguard. I'm just wondering if I can just go to Walmart, Home Depot, lowes, etc. and pick up a substitute instead of having to place an order and pay for the shipping if I don't have to.
