Has anyone just gotten one of the big sheets to wrap magazines and other random stuff?
I wonder how many mags could be wrapped with either the 8" x 50" or 6" x 72" sheet, and which of the two would cover more mags with the least waste. And would it be more cost effective? I guess it'd have to cover 7 or more mags to be a better deal than their precut mag covering kits. |

Have ya'll found it easier to apply with a disassembled weapon? I have a new build I am working on and thinking of using this prior to assembly. Also notice the company has a 10% off sale right now.

Thanks...I am thinking of ordering this week and just doing the individual pieces as I get the parts in. I am planning the multi-cam, and will probably pick up the B5 Sopmod stock and p23 grip that are already multicam. That should save me some material for other items. |

I've never run out of the Gunskins material from their AR-15 kits, FYI. |

I ordered the multicam kit for AR15s and I will start applying it when it gets here. As I am still collecting parts for my build, I will attempt to apply everything before assembly to see how it goes. I can always patch if need be, plus all my parts are already degreased so far.

I'm actually thinking of doing one for myself |

Take the vfg off of the pistol Bzzzzzt. Wrong. Thanks for playing tho. 100% legal. Sigbrace on an SBR? Ok Just looking out for you, that's all. Fair enough then. I appreciate it. Sorry for the response. Just gotten tired of seemingly endless posters thinking a VFG is illegal on such a build. Yes it IS if its under 26" OAL. If its over that, its good to go. Theres copies of letters from the ATF over in the Pistol forum stating as such. |

Picked up a B5 Bravo in multicam today...did the comparison and the gunskins it not quite as "bright" in artificial light...in normal sunlight the match is much closer. It must be this way with all of the gunskins. https://scontent-a-iad.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-prn2/t1.0-9/q71/s720x720/10403232_10101351105211487_7791962751783533267_n.jpg View Quote Yeah, the Gunskins isn't quite 'right' under artificial light, but outdoors its very close. |

any suggestions on how to best cover a rail with the holes? I am looking at an ALG M-LOK FF rail, thinking of using an exacto knife to cut the holes.

Buy a few extra blades - fresh blades cut through the Gunskins smoothly. Once the blade gets a bit dull, it won't glide through anymore and you should switch to a new blade. |

The UTG Pro slim handguard has a ton of holes. I bought gunskins for my 9" an 15" handguard. after doing the 9" handguard, I said EFF that to doing it on the 15" one. |

For those of you with both Gunskins and Liguid Gunworks products, which do you feel is more durable?
What about the feel of the two? Someone mentioned earlier that the Gunskins are little slick feeling - do the Liquid Gunworks hydrodipped products feel the same? Thanks in advance. |

Someone mentioned earlier that the Gunskins are little slick feeling - do the Liquid Gunworks hydrodipped products feel the same? Thanks in advance. View Quote I do not have any hydrodipped products from Liquid Gunworks, but I have several parts hydrodipped by Sexy Weapon. The Sexy Weapon dipped parts supposedly come with a durable clearcoat applied to it. I think that's a joke because I've found all of my 'dipped parts to be easily prone to scratching. It's also not a 'thick' coating which results in any minor scratch showing the color underneath the 'dip. I've also found that on curved or round portions the hydrodipped pieces have a distorted or stretched pattern. It can look a little odd and may not blend in as well to a larger pattern (such as camo clothing of the same pattern) The Gunskins are more durable, but if it gets a DEEP scratch it may show the white material below the printed camo pattern. It is uniform in the camo design in all areas unlike hydrodipping. Overall it is much, much more durable than my Sexy Weapon hydrodipped parts. It's far cheaper also. As for the slickness, I find them about the same. Perhaps the hydrodipped parts are a hair less 'slick', but I really don't find either as being very slick after having used both for quite a while now. |

My rail will be in this week (got the 13" ALG EMOD) and hope to get my gunskins on it soon. For those that have done rails, did you just apply the gunskins to the rail, and then do the cuts, or did you cut as you go? I think I will heat the whole thing and let it cool, do the cuts, and then reheat to tuck in and to smooth.

Use a lot of fresh Exacto knife blades for the best results as it will slice through the Gunskins film much easier. Blades that are slightly worn will grab and not cut as smoothly resulting in jagged cuts. |

Anyone have long term reviews on the stuff? I'm seriously considering hitting my precision rifle stock with the stuff unless I upgrade stocks this winter.

View Quote I've been using it for the last year and a half. I have it on numerous weapons, but the two that get the most use are an AK and AR that are both in this thread. I've had no issues at all - no signs of delamination or the adhesive coming off. No issues with fading. It's been a good product for me. |
