Hello,

I thought I was being smart when I used Avery laser shipping labels for paint templetes. What I found is that when you peel them off they leave a residue which is a pain to remove.
What sticky media are you using to make templetes?

Finish: Duracoat
Time left on: 24 hours (applied laser printed and cut templetes one one day and painted and removed the following day).

Thanks

I've used contact paper (the stuff you put down in cabinets) with good results. It's not overly sticky, and a PAIN to sit there and cut out, but comes off very easily. It's pretty cheap too.

I had a buddy of mine who owns a vinyl cutting machine cut me some crazy designs on the sticky backing for the vinyl stickers and it worked great. Cost my like $5 bucks for something like 6 feeet by 30" of material.

In the airbrushingmodels section of almost any crafts store (Michaels, AC Moore, Hobby Lobby, etc) you can find a material called "frisket". It comes in sheets or rolls and is specifically designed for making low-tack templates for airbrushing. I used it with great results - but like the above poster, it takes a while to sit there and cut things out if you have an intricate pattern.
