THE IMAGE ABOVE IS A PAID ADVERTISEMENT First I will lay down the Urban White Basecoat\ [ ]Once its got a good solid urban white ( grey) basecoat, I start applying stencils [ ][ ][ ]Next I shoot it with the second color, a darker grey making sure I get good coverage [ ]Heres a closeup [ ]Ok, now its got a basecoat, some smaller stencils and a nice second coat. The next step is putting on the larger stencils and some smaller accent stencils. [ ]Another shot [ ]Starting to look like something now.... Time for the final coat of color, matte black. [ ]Once thats all done its time to start to peel away the stencils and see what you got !!! [ ]Not bad huh ? [ ]And finally its pretty well complete, not a bad way to spend a day ! Thanks to Stang for the advice and MY WIFE for the stencil placement ! [ ]Let me know what you guys think ! This next set of pics is the sister to the DIGI DISSY- TIGER STRIPE DISSY This was a simple one, just degrease , put templates on and shoot in Duracoat WWII O.D. Green, peel templates and here she it. Not bad for a quickie [ ][ ][ ][ ]

I always wondered how digital camo was done. Anyone who misses this forum is doing themselves a disservice! Nice work.

That's a nice job...
I think I'd hit it with a dusting overall of a really light gray color. That will help break up the sharp outlines and contrasts. Course, it IS awfully pretty the way it is now, depends on what you want it to look like. |

I ll try to get some outside shots this week.
I think I should try to go with a pine needle camo to match my wifes dining room furniture. Its funny you should mention a light dusting. I did that right after these pics were taken. It was supposed to be more of a matte clear coat but it came out opaque and looks like a light grey dusting ! |

Looks very good--I like it!
I've always liked the vertical tiger stripe (AmStripe). I think your other rifle would look GOOOoooooooood in it (you said that it's a twin to this one, right?). Make sure you post pics! Great job! Have fun showing that baby off! |

Glad I started looking at this board today.
That's an awesome looking rifle. I'm about to refinish my first firearm (a 1911) and now I'm seriously thinking about something like this. Good job! -Jbot |

Does this not gum up the moving parts?

Nope, just got back from the range with my 1911, no problems at all. Same with my colt lower that I did and although I havent fired the dissy, I can cycle the action easily and it rides freely and even the adjustments on the A2 rotate freely for adjustment.

Looks good.
Kind of a dumb question but the color you want to be most prominent should be sprayed 2nd? |

I wanted this to be primarily black, so I did the black last and kept the stickers at a level that would keep black the most prominant color.

Once I get the LPK totally installed and everthing is set, I ll get some pics outside. The degreaser made the stock look a bit whitish, but once it gets some CLP on it, it will darken up, all the black will be much darker.
