I did store it but did not have it in the off position, I just thought that by not using the laser it wouldn't affect the battery life
Also, the OFF position is the IR/VIS correct? |

Storing it in any other position than off (IR/VIS), will drain the battery. that is why there is an off (IR/VIS) position.
Lasers eat batteries its just the name of the game. |

Yep, it's a bitch. Every now and then I get mine out & it doesn't work and I know exactly what happened... Left the switch in the wrong position.

Mine does good as long as it's left in off. Other settings will drain batteries.

Yep, needs to be in the "off" position. The full power PEQ-15 on my work rifle is the same way.

Lasers drain because the diodes/circuitry are constantly powered, except in the off position (IR/VIS on an ATPIAL). This is why Eotechs with their holographic laser reticle get such lousy battery life when compared to an Aimpoint which uses Micro LED technology.
