He guys, I just picked up a pair of demist shields off fleabay and noticed that the molding quality was really subpar. The plastic was very shiny compared to other photos of them where they appear matte and the inside diameter is fairly rough. Aesthetics don't really bother me but it also didn't come in an identified bag, just a zip lock type bag which trips a lot of warnings. Links to pics below.

someone could be 3d printing them and selling them i guess, but if it does the job, i wouldn't worry too much about it, unless the part fails.

I don't recall any of mine being shiny like that though.

Who makes the cheap ITT style pvs14 contract housings... Carson's inc? (I forget) They could be from a gov contract, demist's are supposed to be a consumable type item.

What I thought. Mine came in plastic bags with no mfg info, but all the milspec stuff... Manual, lens paper, eyecup, pinhole cover, shoelacen etc.

So Carson is my guess.

If it fits and works use it. It's better than nothing

Sure... but I would not trust the seller with another dime of my money. The true demist shields have special properties that I doubt this one has.
