I expect to fly up to VA this fall to fight in the cola wars.

In doing so I'd like to bring my newest toy. Besides TSA fingering it, any concerns with stowing it in my cary on? would the X-ray machine do any damage?

It should be fine. I would just recommend taking the battery out.

+1 on the battery - And keep the battery well away from the kit just in case fiddling with your stuff isn't enough and the TSA people actually try to install the battery so they can see what cool night vision looks like in full light.
