I know it is older technology.  Just wondering what it is.

Thanks

Well that would be thermal and not a night vision tube technically. Skypup handles these things and I am sure he will be around shortly.

I can tell you it is not Flir, and I don't know what mood Skypup is in today.

ETA : He apparently shot a hog last night so he SHOULD be happy. We will see how he likes 10 year old Raytheon technology today. I think he will be OK being that he got a hog last night.

ETAA: I would not pay 8000 bucks for it.

nope me either.  They now sell for around 5500.

I didn't know if was in the 160 range or the 320 range or some oddball thing.

I didn't know what to call it so 'tube' had to suffice.  Maybe detector?

Thanks

Me either ! I guess detector works well. Hell, I don't know ! I am still a thermal newbie. I am learning but not qualified to be an expert so I say little on the subject. If you have a NV tube I can rant and rave though.

Not bad, large glass mated to a 320x240 BST detector and with a 60Hz refresh rate and 25 micron pitch.

They are big and heavy!

They are shutterless because they have a rotating shutter running all the time.

Good image for old 2006 BST technology though.

Do these need to be kept in the freezer like the Flir scopes ? I may want one at the discount price but space is limited in my icebox.

I think it has a 30 micron pitch core, the fov with a 102mm lens matches a 30-35 micron core.

Sportsman guide has them 5300.00 and will bill CC in 4 payments.

Was close to pulling the trigger on one , but went with an armsight 336 75mm 60hz. The fov of the 75mm lens with a 17u core is small around 4 degrees, but long range ID is very good.
The areas I hunt the longer range thermal will help out, but a 3x would probably be better suited for all around use, or a 640 core would give larger fov.
